Hours, Costs & Ordering Information
First off: Our hours of operation:
We are usually
available Monday-Friday, from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M., EST.
Editing requests will be worked on in the order in which
they are received. Of course, you're more than welcome to
request a projected completion date.
You can hire us by
the hour or day, by the job with a firm estimate, or for a
flat fee. We’ll do everything possible to tailor our services
to your budget.
Services in U.S. Rates:
Proofreading ($20/hr): This is where we correct
typographical, punctuation, spacing, and spelling errors; with
an occasional reformat where needed.
Copy editing ($26/hr): In addition to the above, we
attend to grammar, word choice, clarity, and consistency in
style while formatting to produce tightened, fresh copy
guaranteed to pack a punch.
Content editing ($32/hr): Here we rearrange and
restructure the material to improve quality and readability;
similar to Copy Editing but more intense. In addition to copy
editing, we review the copy's structure, flow, agreement of
stated numbers and percentages, and presentation style.
Rewriting ($50/hr): Here we revise and write new
text in line with draft, notes, or an outline. This may call
for further research and involves substantial changes in
organization and style. Definitely higher on the
fun-o-meter.
Writing ($50 - $80/hr): In this, we create original
material based on notes, rough draft, and resource materials.
This is probably the most fun.
Various assignments: Book editing or project
conceptualization and design, for example. Negotiated
according to nature of job. Enormous fun.
Rush Hour: No stress
is allowed as contract clients receive priority scheduling and
quick-response, deadline-oriented results. We gladly offer
Rush service to our other customers at premium rates (1-2 X
basic fee).
Order Form:
Please
include as much information as possible, being as specific and
as detailed as you can about what you would like done. Once
you've told us what you want done, we can get in touch with
you regarding specific charges and hammer out the payment
details.
Currently, we prefer checks and/or money
orders simply made out to the individual editor who does the
work, but as we make additions to the site, you'll have more
