Activities Just a very short walk (2 minutes) will take you to our village center. Here you will find many quaint and unusual shops, fine restaurants, (including the famous Bubble Room), beauty salon and places of interest. If you continue thru the village, along the historic district, a five minute walk will take you to the beach with miles of golden sand and the warm waters of the gulf of Mexico. Our beaches are famous for their fantastic shells (some of the best shelling in the world is found on these barrier islands) and spectacular sunsets. Another little gem is the famous “English Pub” called the Mucky Duck. People gather here each evening to watch the sun go down – which is spectacular! Now on to Sanibel Island – what a wealth of things to do and see on our sister island located just 10 minutes down the road. Visit the shell museum if you want an afternoon away from the sun! Go see what's happening on the Ding Darling Reserve! Capture a few gators or roseate spoonbills on film. The crow center for rehabilitated animals and birds is also worth a visit to se how we care for our environmental creatures and friends. The big arts center, playhouse theater, and the delightful schoolhouse theater are all there for evening entertainment and feature big names and productions during the season. Also on Sanibel Island there is a wealth of beautiful shops and restaurants, cycling trails and places to visit. So, there you have it! Come join us! The Owners We are an English couple who loved it so much here that we decided to buy a vacation home. Then, we loved it so much we decided to move here permanently. Now we love it so…that we what to share it with you!
