The Grape Escape was born in 1996 when Dan and Julie Pettit retired and needed to fill their days. The Grape Escape is a wine on premise center and has The Grape Escape Winery and Wine Shop as their associate enterprise.
The business began as a place to teach wine making as a hands on activity using juice concentrates purchased from wineries around the world; California, France, Italy and Australia to name a few.
The Grape Escape has also been able to provide equipment, supplies and information to the home wine maker, creating hours of fun and pleasure for everyone.
The wine on premise shop provides temperature, humidity and light controlled space for primary fermenting, secondary fermenting and bulk aging. Bottling of the finished wine is accomplished with Italian corkers. Labels and shrink caps are also available.
The hobby of wine making offers a dollar savings with a superior quality when compared to 98% of the wine available in the marketplace. All the wine maker needs to contribute is the time and patience.
Over the past 7 years, The Grape Escape has had continued growth now serving more than 1,000 customers with a staff of seven part-time people. Thanks to the excellent growth, we are now building our own building of 5,000 square feet, and will be providing a wine bar and patio with cheese boards and canapes.
